Introduction

This family run bed and breakfast is located seven miles from Edinburgh city centre, just 15 minutes by local train links. It is an ideal location for visiting Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Edinburgh Zoo, museums and galleries. Craigbrae is also central for exploring Fife, the Borders and Scotland’s top golf courses.

Three comfortable bedrooms with views to the garden or countryside. All rooms have hairdryers with tea and coffee facilities. 

History to the present day

Craigbrae was built in the late eighteenth century and added to just before 1850. Even though there is no definitive history available, it is clear from old farm buildings that there has been habitation and farming activity at Craigbrae since the 12th century when the church in the nearby village of Dalmeny was built. 

Food and Drinks

Full English/Scottish cooked breakfast to order and served in the family dining room which overlooks the garden. Choose from a selection of home-made jams.

Relax in the Drawing Room which has satellite television, DVD, video player, and a library of films. Enjoy a good choice of books by the cosy log fire which is lit in the winter and on chilly days.

Directions: From Edinburgh, follow the signs to the Forth Road Bridge. Continue over Barnton roundabout and take the first turn off the dual carriageway signposted to Kirkliston. After the railway bridge turn right opposite the cottage, then turn left.
