Mr Jethro Bennett, October 2012: Very highly recommended.
Comfortable and spacious in a very nice area.
Mr Thomas Pascoe, September 2012: Very reasonably price accommodation within striking distance of the city centre. Room was large for student accommodation and kitchen was well appointed.
Mr Andrew Flory, September 2012: I have stayed at Merrifield a number of times in the last four months and it has been consistently excellent in all areas. Staff are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to ensure the stay is good. I have no complaints whatsoever; this is a service the staff providinfg have a right to be proud of.
Mr Nik Makretsov, September 2012: Clean and spacious. All facilities are on site (laundry, full kitchen etc). Nice building with gated courtyard. Just 5 min bus ride to the city centre (or 30 min walk) - excellent transit access. Good for a longer staying- i.e more than a day or two! I am a part-time student- stayed for 3 weeks for the time of my courses- it was excellent and I was able to stay on budget in expensive Oxford!
Mr Olajide Oladepo, September 2012: Close to the high street, gym facility nearby, clean accommodation, affordable price, easy access to transport.
Mr Selim Reza Momina, September 2012: very good experience. excellent service!
Mrs Ruth and Kevin Mays, September 2012: The situation at Merrifield was excellent for the Hockey field and bus travel into Oxford. We had a very enjoyable time with manager Lindsay helping out in everyway he could to make our stay a very pleasant one.
Miss Tasharjni Slack-Smith, August 2012: I was really pleased with the service and accommodation provided at Merifield Annex in Oxford. I was greeted and attended to by the friendly manager, and my room was clean, secure and quiet. The shared bathrooms were also clean, and I was surprised to find a share kitchen just across the hall from my room- very convenient. The breakfast was simple but sufficient, and for thirty-three pounds a night I was impressed. The annex was situated behind the main shopping street in Summertown, and you could even walk from there to Oxford's city centre in about 15-20 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I would definitely stay again and would confidently recommend Merifield Annex to others.
Miss Laura Nugent, August 2012: I enjoyed my stay here, I thought it was good value and a good friendly service.
Miss Alexa Penny, July 2012: A very pleasant stay. We did struggle to wash-up as we had washing-up liquid but no washing-up cloth or towels to dry up, but otherwise it was great. I would definitley stay again.
Mr William Mackintosh, July 2012: 1. I was allowed to leave my luggage until it was time to check-in - this was much appreciated. 2. The room was at the rear of the properties and overlooked at bowling green. It was a glorious sunny day and lovely to hear the sound of the bowls knocking together. 3. There is a very good bus service between Summertown and the city centre. 4. There are supermarkets in Summertown so you can stock up on food at a reasonable rate. 5. The duty manager was polite, welcoming and courteous.
Miss Arianna Maria B Marucco, July 2012: The accomodation was very quiet and green surroundings.
Mr vasilios stavros, October 2011: Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The manager was very friendly and approachable with all sorts of questions.
Mr Irfan Ahmad Chattha, September 2011: It was very nice experience while staying at Merifield residence. The Manager of the premises was very friendly and co-operative. The premises is situated very close to shopping and recreational area. Transportation is available all the time. The atmosphere is very peaceful for study and examination preparation.
Mr enis cezayirli, September 2011: I spent a week at the end of August, while the students were away. The place was quiet. The room was very spacious and clean. Kitchen had everything you need. In short, excellent accomodation.
Mrs caroline jones, August 2011: Lindsey was an outstanding manager in every respect: efficient, welcoming, helpful beyond the call of duty, made himself available, pleasant to deal with. We would certainly come again.
Miss Carrie Burnham, August 2011: A great place to stay as not too far from City centre and lovely staff.
Mr Nan Chen, July 2011: About 15 mins walk to the city center, great location for travellers, very clean room with good service!
Mr Nan Chen, July 2011: It's a fantastic place to stay, strongly recommended
Michael McLachlan, December 2010: Most enjoyable. My only quibble being that the very warm weather at the time did make the room a little stuffy.
The site manager was most courteous and, although obviously very busy, extremely helpful.
I highly recommend the Merifield Annex and would happily stay again.
Ruthy Watson, September 2010: It was a good location and easy to find. The onsite manager was very pleasant.
David Carter-Hitchin, September 2010: I had a very pleasant stay for a fortnight and the staff looked after me very well.
Lisa Denney, September 2010: Fantastic accommodation. By far the nicest university rooms I've stayed in anywhere in the UK. The free wireless internet and included breakfast are nice touches. Only downside is that your experience depends somewhat on who you share the flat with. The first 2 days of my stay were great, the third day, there was clearly someone with lower levels of hygiene! Still, for the cost I think it's worth it - and maybe just mention on check in that you'd like a quiet room or something. If you were making a group booking for the whole flat, then it would be ideal.
Stephen Ma, September 2010: Great service absoluately valuable for money
Scott Morrison, September 2010: Sometimes not enough cereal or coffee left out for breakfast. However, the manager was otherwise excellent and attentive, and the accommodations convenient and excellent value
Gellis Tatiana, September 2010: Very good, thank You!
Kyle Wedgwood, September 2010: Very friendly manager! Thanks for a great stay
Oleg Lukin, September 2010: Thank you so much for very great accommodation! I would be happy to book a room at Merifield Annex in future.
Beh YI YUE, September 2010: Room was clean, bright and tidy.
Thank you for the enjoyable stay.
Debra Douglas, August 2010: For the price it was well worth it. Clean pleasant room. Same for the kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Raymond Curnow, August 2010: Very pleased with accommodation, very good value for the price. Perhaps a little more choice for breakfast?
vince mee, August 2010: I now stay regularly at Merifield annrx. It is always clean & tidy with friendly, helpful staff. Cable internet connection always works well. Extremely good value for money.
Laura Morosanu, August 2010: This college offer by far the greatest university accommodation I've seen so far, and, to be honest, it's much better than many hotels in Britain/Ireland which were considerably more expensive. No bad surprises, all was really clean, internet free, towels provided, huge kitchen with cooking facilities. All in all, very nice experience! I would definitely recommend it!
Hisham Muhra, July 2010: Good, clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation.
Emma Hayde, July 2010: Very good exoerience
David Strudwick, July 2010: Many thanks for looking after me during my short stay. You have very pleasant rooms and the other guests and students were very helpful. (I do like the self-catering, continental option...plenty of breakfast...have what you like...very good!) Would love to come again soon...many thanks.
Sarah Jackman, July 2010: Lovely nice, clean rooms, bathroom and kitchen with towels and sheets provided. Breakfast basic but just what I wanted and all in the flat. Couldn't pick up a wireless signal but didn't enquire as wasn't there enough to use, so may just have been my settings. A good distance from the centre, 30 min walk or buses every few mins, and a good range of shops, pub and restaurants around the corner. Would definately stay again. Thanks
Phil Mann, July 2010: Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise as I had thought it was just a room. The room and facilities themselves were excellent as well.
I would suggest extending "check-out" time to 11 though which seems more in line with Hotel standard practice
Ivan Avila de Oliveira, July 2010: Merifield Annex was one of the best places I stayed over the years. Located in a quiet place it should be tried by anyone looking for a restful time in Oxford City.
Helei Fu, July 2010: I had a good stay at Merifield Annex. The only regret is that there is no direct bus from the rail station to the accommodation. I had to walk a long way to get on a bus in the city center and the bus driver could not tell where I should get off (I think you can take bus #7 and get off at Someset Shops stop). Anyway, this is a quiet and safe place. I believe I will choose to stay here again if I come to Oxford.
Brian Moore, July 2010: A very pleasant stay. Only a very picky person would list faults.
John Swinbank, July 2010: Unfortunately, the wireless network didn't work well. Otherwise, price and location were excellent, and the other facilities available perfectly reasonable. Friendly welcome!
Terry Stickland, July 2010: Very friendly, helpful and competent management, only grumble was no bin in own room. Breakfast provisions (cornflakes, fresh milk) were much appreciated, though microwave oven and/or pots and pans for heating food would have been an advantage, particularly as all the necessary kitchen facilities were otherwise available.
Mrs Pauline Wilson, July 2010: Very clean and spacious. There were 2 showers and 2 toilets between 5 single bedrooms so wasn't queing. Kitchen fully equipped. People very friendly and helpful. Most impressed.
