Miss Leda Sammarco, November 2012: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at St John's College. As well as an ensuite bathroom, there was a kitchen too, which was great. The rooms were very comfortable and one was particularly spacious. I thought the breakfast was excellent with a good selection of food - I appreciated the Yeo Valley yoghurt! It was great to have table service too for tea and coffee as this avoided long queues and the dining area was very spacious. It was nice to be near the centre of Cambridge and it was very peaceful at night too. The porters were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. 5/5

Mr Stuart Rowan, October 2012: We had a great time, thanks, and would recommend your B&B anytime. You have a beautiful college and grounds and it is somewhere we had wanted to visit for years. However, it would be a great help if you could state clearly, on all correspondence/websites that there is no parking! We were fortunate in that you came to our rescue, but it could have cost us a fortune if we had had to leave our car in the NCP car park overnight. 5/5

Mr Alastair Stone, October 2012: Having met at a college party in St John's College in 1963, this was a real 'pilgrimage' for my wife and me. Everything worked out just fine. - the college porters were helpful and friendly. - the room(s) were fine - loved the hot water in the shower! - the breakfast was outstanding - it was nice to be so close to Trinity St, King's Parade etc We hope to return again! 5/5

Dr Jilska Perera, September 2012: very large room with a small kitchen and bathroom. all items provided were good except the hot chocolate and extras such as a hair dryer and radio were much appreciated. WiFi did not work in the room but could be accessed in the Porters lodge. The surroundings were awesome and I look forward to my next stay. 5/5

Miss Sarah Bentley, September 2012: We stayed in St John's college for one night in a twin room with an ensuite bathroom. The porters were incredibly helpful and friendly and the room was very clean. The breakfast was nice and much better than anything I ever had at University! Overall it was a great experience to stay in such a lovely college which is also well located a couple of minutes walk from central Cambridge. 5/5

A tranquil Oasis in the centre of Cambridge with all cafes pubs shops on doorstep. Twin room had 2 bedrooms, kitchen with fridge and a hairdryer. Merry Wives of Windsor performance in the garden Saturday night and we popped into the college bar after. Excellent breakfast. 5/5

In fact the design of rooms and furniture is the same. Sir Ivor Jennings a scholar and Professor from Cambridge University was who initiated and was the first vice chancellor at University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka. Wonderful experience. Will certainly recommend B & B at St. John's - loved staying in the college and feeling all that history around us. Thoughtful touches like the teatray (especially!) and hairdryer and toiletries were above the service given by some ordinary B & B accommodation. We were comfortable and warm in a rather chilly early July. Breakfast had excellent choice available and friendly, efficient staff. Porter pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed Cambridge v. much - could have done with even more time, but staying in the college gave one a feeling of being part of it for a short while. Thanks. 5/5

Our twin en suite was actually even better - a flatlet with our own door with 2 single study rooms, a shower room and little kitchen with fridge, sink and electric hobs. It was spotlessly clean and towels were changed each day. We enjoyed walking across the Bridge of Sighs and onto the Backs in the evening. The porters were helpful with information, polite and friendly and the breakfast staff very efficient. The booking service was very simple and efficient. We would certainly book again. 5/5
